2013 Wentworth Cove Accident

Seems like a case of he said / she said and the courts muddied up the waters!

I hate to be in this situation and be dragged down for 4/5 years. Huge reason why I drive very defensively and avoid weekend traffic!

Thanks for posting this cautionary tale. I agree the waters are muddy and that we should drive defensively. But after reading 3X, I'm not nearly so sure that this is he said/she said, or that it's the courts that did the muddying.

Myers was obviously trashed, and most likely speeding and driving without a light. Stowe (maybe) got a bit confused in the situation caused by Myers. Then Myers's friend sues for $2MM for a torn rotator cuff. Seems like all the bad behavior came from one boat, and then the same boat has done all they could to take advantage of our good but imperfect system.

Lessons Learned

There are many lessons learned from this tragic accident, the one fact that does need to be corrected is that Myers is not an owner of Stumble Inn. As much as I love the lake and always love being out close to dusk, I never have been out at night for fear of an irresponsible person such as this running into my boat with my family and friends on board. Doesn't matter if I have a GPS been on the lake 17 years.
