Ode To Winter

It's winter in New Hampshire

And the gentle breezes blow

Fifty miles an hour

At seventeen below


Oh, how I love New Hampshire

When the snow's up to your butt

You take a breath of winter

And your nose gets frozen shut


Yes, the weather here is wonderful

So I'll guess I'll hang around

I could never leave New Hampshire

'Cause I'm frozen to the ground

It's winter in New Hampshire,
And if you didn't know,
It's probably cuz it's 50 out,
and there isn't any snow.

So comeback you distant snowbirds,
it isn't really cold
Head you trailers northward,
and comeback where its not cold.

Coming back
 

We are leaving Key West. Driving our Motor Home not out West but North to New Hamshire which is the Best.

It's winter in New Hampshire
and the ice is really thin
I see a two sunken pickups belonging to some kin

It's winter in New Hampshire
and the bob huts are afloat
I am staring at the water with no sign of a boat
the fish they are a smiling not knowing what's to come
I'm bringing out "old Betsy", gonna shoot em with my gun.

Let's be honest, the winter has and will be a total BUST.

It's winter in New Hampshire
And if you didn't know
My friends all bought new snowmobiles
That's why it didn't snow

Had they bought new Sea Doo's
You would have seen snow fly
Mother nature likes to trick us
Ice Out would be July

So if you like the winter
Buy a new Sea Doo
And if you pray for Summer
Buy a new Polaris too

I can relate to that...

I am Guilty as Charged
 

Guilty as charged. I traded in my two Ski Doo's for two new ones back in November.:eek: :emb:

Oh boy that's rough!
My poem is a true one.
Several of my friends bought new 2016 sleds.
Just think...you'll have a brand new sled to look forward to riding next year.

I say, gently, you poem makers better watch out...Hallmark may come looking for authors for a new line of greeting cards.

I hate to burst your bubble Airedale, but Maine is claiming that one too!!!!:laugh:

I knew the day I put the plow on the truck and everything worked ( first time in years) and the pto shaft lined up perfectly for the snowblower on the tractor that this winter was doomed!!

I knew as soon as I bought a new snowmobile!! :emb::emb:

#1 son - new sled
#2 son - new sled
Dad - new sled
Brother-in-law - new sled

That's a WTF... :(

Winter Offering
 

Some might say this winter's nice,
with winter short and springtime twice.
Yet for this warmth we pay a price:
another truck gone thru the ice.

No, that's a "Now we know whose fault this is!!!!" ;) :)

I'll take some of the blame too, new sled and trailer. At least I got the sled broken in with the little riding we did.

I just knew that when my wife and I got new skis, boots and poles and seasons passes to Gunstock that the winter was going to be dismal. I will say that Gunstock has done a pretty good job with snow making and grooming.

We hardly got any ice or snow
Spring is coming, the sap is flowing
