I've had the 150 for a few years, and recently purchased the 175C, using the March/03 chip. I've heard there is a newer chip, but that not much has changed.

Overall, very happy with the unit. There is also a $75 rebate on the 175 through the end of July.

I also have a 150C with a c map chip of the Bizer Winni Map.
the unit is awesome, I am very happy with it and highly recommend Standard Horizon.
I did have a problem with my unit when I first purchased it. The manufacturer took it back and repaired under warranty, no problem
I would buy from them again

I have both a CP155C and CP175C in my 2 boats with the March 05 chip. They are great, no problems so far. If you get it through West Marine or Boat US you can get a great deal, they will price match internet sites. I paid $565 and $724 respectively. Much better than the normal price.

Antenna included

I just installed mine today. The antenna is included in the box and well as cable (45 feet).

Rebate

Don't forget that Standard Horizon has a $75 rebate going until the end of the month on the CP155C and CP175C, and $100 on the CP1000C. I will try to find the website that I used, they were out of southern Florida. I printed it and took it into the local West Marine. You have to add freight charges to the price you are matching, it was $7 to NH for a CP175C. I don't know if there is a way to do it if ordering by phone or on the internet however. On one of my installs we had to use a small mount to lift the antenna off the surface of the boat as it was not a flat area. The other was a clean flat mount to the deck with 5200, very low profile.

thanks for the Info. I have another question. did anyone also get the stern mounted wide beam transducer to go along with the system? and is the antenna the little mushroom antenna?

thanks again

Transducer

You must be talking about the FF520 transducer, I am not sure if they are shipping them yet, they are long overdue. These were promised for March delivery and as far as I can tell are still not in mass production. I could be wrong on that but a few websites I checked tonight still state "coming soon". I was planning on using them but probably will not bother until fall when the boats come out. I have separate depth finders anyhow.

Both came with the small white mushroom antenna which works fine. There is no need for anything larger.

Order soon?

BTW, I was told that the units are very popular and they are now on backorder (I had ordered mine a month ago). When you place your order make sure you will actually get the unit before the end of June so that you qualify for the rebate and you actually get to enjoy it. :)

I have a 155C that I am very pleased with. However, the Navman 5500 is similar in size and capability and costs around $300 right now, if you shop around and use the generous rebate. The only caveat with the Navman vs. the SH 155C is that the Navman is a bit taller and if space is limited on your helm, the little SH is the way to go. The Bizer map (which is quite good in my opinion) will look the same on either plotter I suspect.

One other feature that I like about the Navman is that it can be had with an internal antenna or external antenna. SH is only available with an external antenna as far as I know. If you have an open boat, the internal antenna works fine and really simplifies installation. I spent nearly $100 on stainless steel hardware putting the SH antenna on my boat. This process invloved drilling a 1" hole and four 1/4" holes in my topsides and took a couple hours of my (rather efficient, in my opinion) labor. I assisted with the installation of a Navman for a friend while at the Center Harbor town docks, which took all of 15 minutes, while the kids swam last Saturday... Much easier, no soldering and very little drilling.
