Spring Boating After Mild Winter

I know there's still time to go, but if it turns out we have a mild winter and there's much less ice than usual, besides having an earlier ice-out will there be anything different? Will there be less early season debris in the water, higher/lower water levels, etc.?

I was just thinking about this myself. I enjoy winter sports as well, but working on my project car put a dent into last season's boating and having another little one on the way in July will make this season shorter too...I'm all for an early March ice-out :).
