Anyone have a Lowrance Elite 4m

This is on the new to us boat we just purchased. I am wondering about any information on it and how is the Lake Winni map on it?
I am about to call lowrance as well to get the skinny on it as there are a couple different versions of it and I have to give them the serial number so they can tell me If it is a sea version or lake version and what else

thanks

I did went up and down on their website, but I cannot determine which version or year it is, it seems to be very new but there is a 4m that is $199 and one that is over $500

I called this morning, and they said they were closed for a company meeting.

I have a couple of higher end Lowrance units and they come with basic nationwide maps installed internally. I also added a navionics map chip for greater detail. I would guess that your model came with basic maps. I would think your model might accept a map chip and if so you might have one. That would be a big win for you as they start around $125 and go up from there.

The chip in your Garmin might work in the Lowrance. The chip I have fits all kinds of makes and models.

If the unit has an SD card slot (I think it does) I would buy the Navionics Hot maps for the Northeast. Shows all markers. Might be a little hard to read being a 4" screen and bright sunlight.

That might help.

Copy write on the operations manual is 2011 so that should give you an idea of it's age.

on Friday
made great headway with lowrance on the phone on Friday, it is a 2014 model purchased in July 2014. and I have to look at the chip that is in my Garmin to see what it is next weekend

does anyone know if the chip stores the previous trails made or is that in the machine itself?
