Lobster Rolls

My wife was in Vista shopping and picked up a couple lobster rolls. They were medium sized subs, not hot dog rolls and packed with lobsster meat and only one leaf of lettuce on the bottom. The price was $9.99 each and if you got 6 the 7th was free. I've seen them priced other places from $13.99 to$19.99. I ate the whole roll, but I could easily made 2 meals of it.

You Are So Correct!

Based upon the review below, we stopped by Vista today and purchased two lobster rolls. My wife watched them weigh out four ounces of lobster meat each and then make the rolls up fresh. Just a bit of mayo and a bit of romaine on a fresh sub roll-voila ! I appreciate that they use mayo, it is not an open top grilled with butter hot dog roll and that they use lettuce.... It may not be the "purist" version, but it is damn good.

For $9.99, they can't be beat

Vista is on the West side of South Main Street, just before the intersection with Union Avenue in Laconia. My wife went there for lobster rolls again yesterday and they had a special $8.99 and included a smal bag of Lay's potato chips. I guess it was just a one day special.

I guess more to the point, it is actually a small grocery store and you get the rolls in the deli dept... Not particularly "sexy" but the rolls are definitely worth it!

The $8.99 price, with the bag of chips is every Friday. Also, you don't have to get the 6 lobster rolls at once to get the 7th one free. They give you a "Lobster Roll Club Card" and punch it for each roll you buy and you get the free roll when you have accumulated 6 punches.

Great deal and the lobster rolls are good too!

Lobster Rolls

Stopped in for the $8.99 lobstah rolls yesterday... WOW!!

As described above, packed with lobster meat and literally just a touch of mayo, on a good sized sub roll. If a restaurant served these there would be a line out the door!

The kid at the deli counter said that a guy came up from Concord to buy 6 of them yesterday because he heard they were so good!

If you like lobstah try these!

Steve

lobster roll

Best kept secret in Laconia. Everybody screams about Pop's Clam shell or Lobster Connection etc. But Vista is the best in the area for the price on Friday nights.

I will definitely try Vista's lobster roll, but I'm really not sure about the bulkie roll instead of the grilled hot dog roll. I was in the mood for a lobster roll yesterday and had one at Tamarack in Weirs -- HEAVENLY!!! I order them with a little mayo to hold the lobster together and lotsa melted butter!!!!;)

I don't care where you get a Lobster Roll, they are "packed" with 4 oz's and 4 oz's only. In most cases probably a little less.

You are paying @ 30 to 40 dollars a lb when you get a Lobster Roll.

Have you weighed each restaurant's offerings?

3.3 - 3.5 oz's of Lobster meat is the going amount that you will get at any food service in the Lakes Region.

I get a kick out of people saying they are "packed" with Lobster meat. They can make it look that way because they just barely open the hot dog roll (or whatever roll they use) and the Lobster meat is sitting on top of the roll. That's why they use hot dog rolls.

The next time that you put a hot dog in a roll pay attention to the opening of it. The hot dog just about sits on the roll and not in it. If you try to open it any more it will fall apart.

Maybe that's because fresh lobster meat costs $25-$30 per lb..........friday's price at Ipswich Wholesale Seafood...$27.50.........even frozen is close to $20

You're right, Lobster meat is expensive for the Restaurants to buy. Thanks SAMIAM.
