Mooring Attachment Question

When mooring a boat (20' Key West) is it ok to attach the pennant to the eye bolt on the bow of the boat?

Yes.

(yes, yes, yes. YeS, Yes).

If by "eye bolt" you mean the "trailer eye" then yes.

When I moored I actually preferred to attach to the trailering bow eye because the line didn't rub on the gelcoat.

Most people will tell you to attach to the bow cleats. But since the cleats are usually on the topside the pennant will drape over the side and scratch the boat over time.

Mooring attachment question

Generally speaking, the bow eye (trailer eye) is the most secure fitting on your boat. The bow deck cleats are not at all as strongly attached to the boat as the bow eye.

So, to paraphrase brk-Int: yes!
