Amazing Boat House pic
 

My dad took this great photo and had it framed. It hangs in my Winni themed guest room and reminds me all year of the wonders of the lake. Just thought I would share, too beautiful to hide...

Is this somewhere on Winni? If so where, I'd love to swing by it this season.

I think this boathouse is near Center Harbor, near the old Acadia campground. It used to be used to house a masted boat called " The Swallow" ?

What a beautiful picture! The Kona in Moultonboro.

That is vewry cool, so the tall windows in the center would open to allow mast through.

This boathouse is in Senter Cove..SW side Moultonbourough Neck. It is the last artifact of an estate, and is now the Club House for a Condominium complex. The Steamboat Swallow was berthed there back in the day. Notice the TALL Vertical doors...The Swallow had masts that needed to be accommodated in the boat house... :look: NB

PS: That original picture above was taken from....an old runabout..Maybe a Gar Wood ......??

PPS: Senter Cove does NOT show up (named) on the Bizer Chart.. It Does show up on the old competing chart...Inside Wallace Island.

Good grief, by the look of the last pic they use that incredible building as a covered porch.

Out of curiosity, with out hate, is that entire dock protected with bubblers all winter or is it floating and removable, if there is such a thing?

Edit: Ok looking closer at the first pic the dock looks like its on concrete piers, so permanent.

Some pics I took last July. This cove is a no wake zone and very quiet.

Does it accommodate boats inside? If so, where do they enter?

We stayed in Senter Cove this past fall, right around the corner from the boathouse, beautiful spot. Great photos and information!

The condo association is Windward Harbor

No it does not accommodate boats anymore. inside is all floor the condo owners can use it for functions or just taking in the view.

The Boat House Floor
 

The larger, but very similar boat house at Boldt Castle in the Thousand Islands had flooring sections that could be "lowered" into the water, allowing smaller boats to be floated inside..as one would expect..then the entire floor would be raised by a number of mechanical jacks.

I remember seeing the heavy screw jacks, but can't remember if they were driven by electric motors or not. The boat house would have had to have a steam plant to provide electricity...which would not be out of the question given the money available.

The idea was to be able to raise the floor, providing space for large social functions near the water. :) NB
