Android Nav Applications

Checking in to see what people are using for Navigation Apps on their Android, I see some older posts but thought I'd try and get a fresh update. I tried tracking myself using the mapquest app but it showed me on land as I went past the barber pole. Any info would be great, looking to have something to use as a double check at night mostly. Thanks

I have the Bizer chart app and haven't had any problems.

Where did you get it? I don't see a Bizer app at the Google Store and the Bizer web site only lists support of apple products, not Android.

Oh, sorry. My bad, I have an iPhone. I thought I saw that they were releasing it for Android too though.

Edited to add: Google Maps is usually good for me as well.

I am an android user too. Going to subscribe to this thread to keep an eye on possibilities for someday...
Maybe if enough folks express an interest an app will happen. Hint,Hint.
It's most likely if some smart person who has the existing info can find a price competitive way to piggyback it onto their data.

Navionics App for Android

Tested the Navionics app for my android and liked the results so far. What I did was snuggle up to a few markers and my position on the map seemed pretty accurate. I also mapped a course and that worked really well. So far I think it's a great app to use as an aid, my real interest is for night navigation and I believe it will work very well to "check" your course on those dark nights. I have not tried it yet but it has a "track" option, my thought is you can track your course to those popular dinner spots and then follow it home once the sun goes down. One thing is I could not see my screen in the sun but that's not a surprise or a big deal for me. For $9.99 I would recommend it to anyone with an android.

I have the Navionics app but I'm not liking it as much as the other are. I have no need to the depth markings (tends to clutter up the screen) and I don't see a way to remove them. The screen also seems to jump around a lot. I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD if that makes any difference.
