Mosquito spraying
I am wondering if anyone has had any luck with companies that spray for Mosquitos in the lakes region area?
|
What are you talking about just on your own property? An extremely temporary fix in my opinion. Wouldn't waste the $$.

I use a product called Yard-Guard, produced by Raid. You spray the fog about an hour before using the outdoor space: it's surprisingly effective, not to be used indoors, and runs less than $8 a can.
The huge clouds of spray from mosquito-control trucks make me nervous. :eek2: There is also a harmless pelletized product that can be dropped from aircraft, but it has to be spread after a likely mosquito egg-laying weather event. I'm told you can drink the water it should fall into—without harm. It kills off the "hatch" using bacteria that are fatal to mosquito larva at any stage of their development. This tree-top photo of a County Mosquito-Control helicopter—taken yesterday—shows one "saddlebag" dropping the beige-colored larvacide pellets. What it doesn't show is how one's dishes rattle and how the roof shakes with the helicopter's passage! "Be careful what you wish for". :look: http://i47.tinypic.com/2wg4r37.jpg |
Mosquito's are out already
I was meeting with a potential customer on Monday night and they were flying all around us. They looked like small mosquito's anyway.

Mosquito Spraying
I will try the Yardguard, I got one quote from a company to spray my yard and it was very pricey, and they need to do it every 18-22 days. I just want to live in a mosquito free world.:)

Sorry, that sounded different when I thought it, then when I read it.:) |

Both of my boys are in Scouts, I am going to see if they will use this as one of the projects with the kids. I'll reply back if they use it and if it worked.(if I can remember):) |

Burning Propane?

 We don't have anything that burns propane, and we seldom see mosquitoes at our lakefront. ...or Black Flies, either, for that matter... :look: |
