Crownline E4

Guys,

I am in the market for a new boat. I currently have a 20 foot bowrider (tahoe Q7) that has been great, but we wanted more space and a gentler ride on rough days or in high traffic areas. I originally fell for the sunesta 244, but saw the crownline E4 at a boat show and loved it. It is setup a bit better for our needs and has tons of features like intergrated factory tower that electronically retracts for bridge clearance. I realize these are both considered deck boats and wont be quite as good as a true deep-v, but i assumed they would be infinitely better than my 3k pound, 20 footer i have now (the crownline is 5500 and 24.5). My only reservation on the crownline was the deadrise at only 19 versus the chap at 20. I like the shallower draft it provides for beaching andf rock clearance, but not sure exactly how it will handle the really rough stuff. I plan on giving it a spin in a few weeks. Anyone have any thoughts in advance of that?

Bought an E4 last season and love it. Live on the wild side of Rattlesnake and it handles the weather fine. The weight makes all the difference!!

1 degree of deadrise will have far less effect than a the rest of the hull design, the trim, and the weight distribution. I would not give the deadrise difference between the two boats a second thought.

Thanks!

Guys,

Thank you both! Winni1952, what engine package did you go with? We wanted to keep this a solid watersporting boat. I was planning on the 350 MAG Bravo III. Should be fine, no?

Yes the 350 Mag Bravo III would meet all your needs!
