Our two new family members....

Eve and Jumper. We got them from the Lakes Region Humane shelter in Ossipee.
Figured it was about time to have our own instead of finding other peoples pets....:D

New family members

Good for you -- they certainly seem to love life these days!

We are big believers in rescues. All of our pets are from the Humane Society, the New England Old England Sheepdog Rescue (www.neoesr.org) or private rescue.

We just added two kittens after losing my buddy, Pete (14) , to kidney failure in mid-November. The Humane Society in Laconia had plenty of kittens, so we had to take two (Bella and Tiger) to keep my 13-yr-old gal, Nika, company. Hubby wanted three, but I had to take a stand. :) Five beasties are enough. For now. :D

There must be something going around . . .

. . . because we added a new member to our family just before Christmas. We call her "Abby" and she is a 5 year old chocolate point Siamese with all the usual Siamese traits (I love cats that talk.) Like all our other animals, she is from a shelter. So far she has ignored the dog and 3 of the other cats. She and our other Siamese are working on it: he starts it and she stands right up to him. They will work out a compromise soon.

DRH will post pictures once she slows down. She's busy exploring after doing her time.

Same here....New family member named "CJ" 8 month old stray. Cute little male tabby and he's taken over the house. Already tormenting his much older and larger maine coon sibling and my daughter's golder retriever is TERRIFIED of the little guy. He chases the dog because he wants to frolic and play and the dog runs away and slinks anytime the cat appears. Soooooo funny. What great entertainment.
A special Merry Christmas to all of you animal lovers out there.

Jumper is absolutely beautiful. You could have many many years of enjoyment even with an older cat. My previous cat lived until 21 years of age and my present cat Jezzie is 15 years old.

Sorry the picture of Jumper never posted. Eve is the female Tortie.
