sure sign of spring

Did anyone else happen to hear all the peepers chirping last night. Its such an inviting sound of spring. They were very loud and there is still snow on our front lawn.

It was a great sound to hear. Now to get the boating ready for ice out!

The frogs in the ponds and wetlands make a nice noise in the evenings as spring unfolds.

One of the most soothing sounds in the world, especially when drifting off to sleep. At least for me.

frogs

when I was growing up in the summers I slept on the porch of our cottage and we had a neighbor, Mr. Allen, and he had a red boathouse inside the northern part of Echo Point. Mr. Allen lived in FL in the winter and we think he took this bull frog home with him in the fall and brought it back in the spring. That frog would croak all the time. When Mr. Allen did not return neither did the frog. We would go to sleep hearing that frog.

Peepers....

Thanks for enlightening me on "peepers", and expression I have only heard used on this forum. I am lucky enough to hear the frogs singing here in CA in the spring especially after all of the rain we have received this year.
