End of Season Video

With the snowmobile season now ending, I thought I would post this video of our trip this year to Quebec. Myself along with three other Lakes region residents (2 from Wolfeboro and 1 from Moultonborough) as well as friends from Vermont and Michigan did this 6 day saddlebag excursion on the finest trails in Canada.

Put YouTube settings on high definition and let it load then turn volume up to enjoy some fine 70's fusion rock!

Disregard captions in video as most won't mean anything unless you were there...

Enjoy!

Looks like an awesome trip. It's something I have wanted to do for a while, but never seem to have the time.

I love Relais 22. We always used to stop there. We used two ride from Shawanagin to Roberval, then stay overnight at Chateau Roberval. The next day we would head back to Shawanagin. Loved the national park before El Le tape

Yeah, someone else mentioned that as well! :)

We all ride Doo's for their reliabilty. It says something when 10 sleds go over 1200 miles without a single issue that wasn't caused by rider error, not even a blown belt...two years in a row! If something should happen, it's also a heck of a lot easier to find a Doo dealer in Canada than any other brand to have the issue fixed.

My good friend and guide on this trip rode his new G4 850 Etec over 9000 trouble free miles this year alone! His previous 800 Etecs all had over 10,000 miles on them before trading up (he gets a new sled every year). Two of those sleds are still on the trails today with nothing rebuilt...all trail riding only, no free style or mountain riding.

I don't think I have heard anyone really legitimately complain about Ski Doo. I think part of that may be brand loyalty - but it seems like every brand has their quirks, really what it comes down to is how well the manufacturer deals with problems as they arise.

One thing I got to say for Ski Doo, those E-TEC's get stupid MPG for a two stroke. My only concern with them is how complicated that power plant is. Suppose that makes no difference so long as it all works! For the cost of these things going 10K miles without problems should be expected.

Looks like an epic trip...

thank you Dan for taking me on that tour. Prob never will snow mobile, but I enjoyed every minute of your trip. Great video and great pix. Hope you
have a lot more memories of winters in the future! Yes...there is life outside
of the Lakes Region, and all of you show it best!! I only wish I was into snow as much as all of you. I do hope we have a great summer though, and I'm ready for it. :)

Definitely wasn't going slow! The video does seem to slow things down. To give you an idea, the part of the video where we were going across the lake trail our speed was in the upper 90's. It doesn't look like it on the video however.

The average day was 200 miles. The most we did in one day was 265 and the least was 145 which was the last day. Unlike here in NH or New England for that matter, going 200 miles a day in Canada is actually fairly easy if weather is good considering how wide, open and well groomed their trail system is.

Looks like New Hampshire and Maine won the prize this year for snow coverage. Google 'New Hampshire snow coverage' and then go to weatherstreet to check it out. Also, click on the map for all 48-states to compare.

The golf course and nearby tennis courts in Waterville Valley, which obviously are out in the open, are still very covered with snow. I dare say ...... how very un-sporting for the weather to do this ......and.....where is the global warming when it is needed in a dire situation like this?
