They had more than one, possibly more than two or three when the speedboat rides where popular. Someone on the forum will know how many they had. I'm not really sure of an exact number.

Very interesting how they used the railroad back then to deliver these large heavy cruisers. Looks like but not show in (as a complete part of the film) that they came right off the flatbed car onto a raceway right into the water.

Thanks for the cool videos, that's fun to see. There's at least one still on the lake, I believe it lives in the big boathouse on Pick Point in Tuftonborough.

Three years ago...

I encountered one of them while going under the bridge connecting Governor's Island... Driven by a white haired gentleman who waved.

Nostalgia brought me back to when I was 11 and, during a visit to The Weirs, my father promised me a ride on one. Never got the chance. But he soon bought a 19' Slickcraft and Miss (Ms.?) Winni was a thing of the past.

I drove the Winni's for a couple of summers. We had two in the water and a third in storage. I think I recall correctly that the sign the roof said "8 boats, no waiting" when I was a youngster.

I'm jealous, .... and they probably paid you to do this. You should have worked for free.

I have seen different info on how many boats they had, but your comment about 8 boats maybe makes this true as well. Maybe 8 boats at the water ready to take on passengers and 4 boats in for repairs and maintenance. It must have been a site to see back then if there was group of them all together.

One is a rebuilt and the other is a patched up boat that I gave to a friend and I was surprised he was able to get it to float. The one that was rebuilt is the one that blew up in Weirs Bay about 1945. Twenty years ago a guy brought it up. It had burned to the waterline before it sank. A guy with a lot of money had it rebuilt. It must have cost $150K. The motor was taken out by another guy. It was totally rusted out. It was an A120 250HP Chris-Craft. A new motor was put in the rebuilt.
