Lots of info in various boating magazines over the last couple of years. In addition to fuel economy, better "grab" when maneuvering may be important on some types of (commercial?) boats. By the time I get these, and then another time to ding one, I'll be able to go to the library and make a replacement on their 3-D printer.
By eliminating or significantly reducing cavitation noise, the Sharrow and related technology is very important to some markets e.g. nuclear submarines. |
Not only are they insanely expensive for only modest improvements in performance, they seem to have production issues as well.
Boat Test ran an article today on the duoprop they will be releasing for Bravo3 etc. They say available in spring of 2026. Maybe they figure with how expensive they are, people are gonna need two years to save for a set. Love the concept, but fail to see them as a viable long term product at those prices. $5k for a prop??? |
Fwiw
Here is a very recent article from boat test….
