Massive Accident in Ashland on 93N.

......Wind Sock Hill!
Isn't that hill known as Wind Sock Hill or something, because there used to be a wind sock up top of the hill....put there by the DOT....believe the flagpole is still there....just no wind sock is attached. So, driving down the hill on Rt 93-south headed toward Exit 24-Ashland, having a wind sock at that location could have prevented this accident becuz the white-out condition would have made seeing the wind sock impossible, and everyone would have slowed down to 15-mph.....capice! Remember the wind sock! Return the wind sock!

I just missed being in that. I had to get off in Ashland for car problems and used Rt3 to Plymouth. Got back on in Plymouth and went for a little scary ride myself. Watched many emergency vehicles heading south as I got on 93 north. Pretty intense snow squall to say the least. I did have a friend end up in the middle of that mess but he is ok.

Driving on Ice Requires Balance...

Most video "car crash compilations" show traffic accidents and near-misses from Russia. From the comments section, I recall that video cameras are required in Russia for insurance purposes. (Seems like a good idea, especially in vodka country!)
Some videos show why seatbelts are a no-brainer. Anyway, at the time of the OP's news story I happened upon an interesting compilation of North America car wrecks. This shows what could have been seen—back when it happened. (At exit 2). 'Wonder if they were wearing seat belts, and what happened upon exiting the car! :eek2: |
