For years I've seen these run across my beach and have never been able to photograph one. I've always assumed they are mink?

I believe you are correct.

Typically I'll see them once or twice/year. All of a sudden, I'm seeing them all over my place. I attribute this to some construction nearby. As a by-product, I've not seen one chipmunk, red squirrel or mouse in over four weeks.

cause and effect?

I'm not sure mink and no squirrels are related issues. We've seen mink running over our docks/rocks carrying fish.

that's a mink. Eagles have been doing a job on the rodent population on Mark, and I recently saw a video of a heron eating a chipmunk, so they could be coming into play as well!

Will eagles also eat mink?
