Jeez down here in Mass I drive by places that have firewood piled up to the sky. I know that doesn't help you any just saying...There isn't a shortage is there??

There was an article in one of the NH papers earlier this fall that said because of last year's warm winter, people had wood left over and there was essentially a surplus of firewood this year. I only bought 5 cords this year because I had around a half cord leftover.

It was cheaper to burn oil last year than it was wood. Unless you were cutting it, splitting it, and stacking it yourself.

We'll see how long that lasts. It's been going upward.:(

I too would like to find a yard where I can load my own sticks. I have a Toyota so I'd like to find a place where they can price other than a 1/2 cord..Oh, and Merry Christmas!
