Does anyone know what happened to the Brickyard Mountain entrance sign? Asking for a friend.

No but I would also love to know as I live there now. In fact one of the bases for the chair lift are buried in my front yard

Why is it buried in your yard?

When they built in Meredith Bay formally Akwa Vista they did not remove them unless they interfered with the foundation of the home. It is well below grade so it’s not an issue. Way too cost prohibitive to remove they are extremely deep b

Wow, I am just kind of surprised that was allowed.

Thanks Pondguy I wonder if it’s still there? How long ago did you see it?

I met my wife at the Brickyard night club 40 years ago.

Brickyard

I had my wedding reception there in 1972.This was two years after it changed from the Shangri-La to the Brickyard. Four years later when my good friend had her reception there, the one thing I remember is they took out all the beautiful windows and there was no view anymore.

I always knew the ski area was there but not being a skier I didn’t have any interest . But, now, they have built houses all over the ski slopes? And they never bothered to take out the ski lift?

The ski lift itself is gone but the concrete bases for the stanchions are buried as long as they did not interfere with the foundation. In my case it is in my front yard buried about 3 feet down so it actually does not bother anything

So how do you know that it’s there, Joey? Can you see it at all? Does it make the land less usable in anyway? For instance, can you put a garden there and cover it up?

I was there when they were excavating my lot. It is literally now about 3 feet down so it does not interfere with and landscaping nor does it affect the value of the property. It currently has grass over it.
