Freshwater fishing ban...

Southern Calicornucopia is considering banning fishing because of COVID-19...After all all those solitary fishing people out in the middle of water, isolated from the public seems like their just having too much fun while others are watching Andy Griffith re-runs...Get them indoors now!

Total unnecessary hysteria!

Sounds like Michigan, "the use of watercraft with motors is prohibited" :rolleye1: Glad I live in NH :)

More like Gilligan's Island without the Professor :)

No, not a ban, read the actual news

This is how news gets distorted and replaced by exaggerations. The story from a professional news source is here. https://www.usnews.com/news/best-sta...ng-ban-meeting

Key paragraph:

"Bonham told the Bee on Monday that only the rural eastern counties of Inyo and Mono have urged fisheries regulators to postpone their upcoming spring trout seasons to prevent thousands of anglers from arriving and spreading the virus to residents."

So similar to what many NH permanent residents on this forum have expressed, the local folks in those counties are worried about a ton of outsiders bringing in the virus. They've asked the fishing regulators for some delay, not cancellation. Just like Motorcycle week delay under consideration by the event organizers.

I still think it's way over played....

People can isolate themselves getting to a fishing spot. The locals are supposed to stay home. No one is going to travel to Inyo County to go grocery shopping. They'll bring everything with them, launch their boat and go fishing. The Govt. is anal in this regard.

I just went shopping and saw lots of people out and about for no apparent reason.

"Rural" Counties...

Those two counties are so rural they're almost non-populated. Agricultural land...

garysanfran 04-16-2020 11:04 AM

SO I guess...

No fishing on Lake Winni? Even local residents can spread the virus...So no fishing for you! Or anyone else?

Nobody has said that but you. Just like nobody said there was no fishing at the other spot...except you.

The correct response when called out for a bad post is "Oops...sorry...thanks...". It's not more misinformation or innuendo

Don't be too quick to think you're out of the woods yet. The summer is young.

I never in my wildest dreams believed that the Governor of NH would tell me it's illegal to open and operate my 20 year old business and provide for my family. Then the next week take my only other income, from rentals.

Seems more like West Germany, China or Mass. :(

I think you meant East Germany, where Angela Merkel received her first passport—issued by The Stasi! (The Internet isn't kind to Angela when she was Stasi!)

Like many in the US military, I've been to the East German border. The signs that faced the road weren't translated, but I figured them out!

Achtung
MINEN!

I formally request reimbursement for my fishing license for the duration of time it is banned. You know since a fishing license is required by law.
