record 85-f high today in central NH?

October 4, 2023: according to ...... http://www.wunderground.com/history/...date/2023-10-4 ..... today was a high temp record setter at 85-f degrees in central NH.

It says the old high for Oct 4 was 81, while the old low was 27, and it got up to 85, today.

Looking at the summit of Mt Washington .... http://www.mountwashington.org/exper...-extremes.aspx .... about 50 air miles away, the old high up there for October was 62 in 2005 while the low was -5 in 1939.

So, did it get higher than 62-f today on the summit of Mt Washington? I know it got close, like maybe 61 or 62, but did it get up to a record high 63 for the month of October?

Here's a related report from Burlington, Vermont for October 4, 2023 ........ Burlington, Vermont breaks its record for hottest October day ...... http://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/b...r-heat-record/ ..... which includes a tweet from the National Weather Service in Burlington ..... "The Burlington Intl Airport has hit 86 F today breaking a long standing record high temperature of 82 set back in 1891. This is also the new all-time October record high temperature." ...... 2:34 PM - Oct 4, 2023

Too bad we did not get any 86-degree heat like yesterday, Oct 4, back in July and August, when it was much cooler and very rainy!

So, where's the first frost?

Most years, here in the lakes region in central New Hampshire, we get the first dip down to 32-degrees or colder on sometime like the last day of September or the first day of October. But, not his year, here in 2023, where today is October 16 and still we have yet to experience that first dip down into freezing temperature and looking at the weather predictions, it's not happening any day, very soon?

So, how about that plus back on October 4 it actually got up to 85 which was the all-time October record high for NH going back to 1891, when record keeping first started.

Looks like there's no worries with frozen pipes in unheated buildings for another week or longer?
