Varney Point Association

Any Varney Point residents on the forum? I am looking at a house on the point. Any thought about the neighborhood. Pros? Cons? There seem to be multiple deeded access points for residents. Some with day docks. Do these access areas and docks get used much.

3 Rights of Way around the point
They are definitely used
Dogs not allowed on the ROW
Day docks are for unloading and loading, not really for an all day tie up.
There are 2 mooring balls

We live here year round. Second family home since 1960 five houses up from ours.

Which house are you looking at?

The people are quite nice. ;0)

this little lovely was strolling through the neighborhood a few weeks ago. We have a plethora of other wildlife too. I've seen a bear, turkeys, fox, a bob cat and I think he was going after someones chickens . . . and all the other litter critters.

There is a house on Heights Road. I understand these all have town sewer but private wells. Ever hear of any issues with the wells in this area.

Hey, that's my house :) Hope you liked it!

We used the day docks all the time. Quick walk down the hill.

is 460' but we're at the bottom of the hill. Don't know what it's like up there. My fiance is a Master Plumber and does a lot of work on the point. The only well trouble is that you may need to shock it once in a while due to it being stagnant.

I think I saw you yesterday checking out the ROW by our house.

Varney Point open land

From a satellite view, there seems to be a lot undeveloped land at the top of Varney Point, around Heights road. Is this all privately owned or is there any town owned "open space"?

No town owned land, all privately held

Under all that undeveloped land you see are actual homes hidden by the trees. No town owned property on Varney Point that I know of. There are a few residents that own multiple lots of which aren't developed. One building lot just sold last week, that spot will be opening up soon I suspect. There are a lot of homes on this spat of land.
