Covid-19 update only on one network ?

Only 1 network covers the President on the update on the virus ? That is disrespectful.

Kamper 04-01-2020 05:22 PM

Comparatively speaking, *****'s beginning to look more credible.

CBS used footage from Italy in a segment on NYC hospitals:

The networks at this moment are covering the Covid-19 briefing.

Some have not been covering the entire briefing. They tend to break away when they start to get off point.

Covid-19 update only on one network ?

Many sites on line carry the briefing.

Last night I believe many stations, cut away from the briefing when it became clear that it was not going to be a briefing about the covid-19 pandemic. Right wrong or indifferent.

I was a little disappointed, last night when what was publicized as a covid-19 task force update, turned in another direction and publicized what was being done to wage the war on drugs even while the pandemic was running rapid. However there was an undying message, which was look we are not stopping other initiatives, while we focus on covid-19.

I think they should have announced at the beginning that what they wanted to do was brief the public on other government initiative, that they care continuing to push forward amid the covid-19 pandemic.

That is exactly the reason networks cut away. The conference was scheduled as a Coronavirus conference and many, including me, have been impressed with the quality of the information ( although the heaped praise required by the President is a little off-putting). The work of the military, in particular the Southern Command, is exemplary and a discussion of the interdiction efforts are valid areas of public interest.

BUT, no honest person really can believe that leading the scheduled Coronavirus conference with the interdiction effort was anything other than a political ploy to further the Presidents re-election.

The networks did return to coverage when the coverage was not a “bait and switch.”

Covid19

It's obvious that you aren't listening to what ***** said at the start of the briefing. He said that after the drug briefing he would continue with daily Covid19 briefing. Why do you tune in if you don't want to hear what is being said? I realize a lot of what is being said is tedious but if you want the information, you just have to put up with it. The MSM was complaining not to long ago about no briefings and now their too long. At least he stays as long as there are still questions to be asked.

Why listen to Trump???

We can get the interpretation from CNN and MSNBC. They'll tell us what he said...In their opinion!

Joe What's-his-name and his wife will translate *****ish into jibberish...

Actually, I did listen to what the President said. I tune in to hear the Coronavirus update, not to hear other subjects which may be important but not what I, and many others, expected to hear.

I didn’t tune in to hear anything else. As far as the MSM, I don’t normally listen to press conferences, but I do like to read about issues of importance. And the military operation is important...but not as the lead in to a conference dedicated to an existential threat to our society.

No matter how you spin it, this was a bait and switch political move. Of course all presidents play politics...but Bush did not begin his initial 9/11 addresses to the nation with an extraneous subject.

MSM broke away, but only after showing footage of Dr. Fauci "making faces" behind the President.
