Nolans & bitter sweet

I heard that Nolan’s & Bitter Sweet in Wolfeboro were bought out! Any updates such as who, what kind of food etc?

Hmmm

I think you may be talking about Nolan's and the Cider Press.

I agree up. I also heard the Bittersweet is being sold but not to the same person.

The sale of the Cider Press has been “Pending” for a couple of months.

If the Bittersweet you mean is the one on Allen Road off Center Street that hasn't been a restaurant for years since it was last sold, that property is indeed also up for sale as a sort of work in progress for whoever wants to do whatever with it:

I don't know anything about the status of Nolan's unless you count the rumor going around that Marriott may be buying it as well as the Cider Press and the Wolfeboro Inn (?!).

You 're correct and a few years ago, a local restauranteur tried to buy it to reopen the restaurant and was told she couldn't because it had been closed and was not zoned commercial. Could somebody get an exception if they fought enough for it? IDK. Probably not.

Nolan's and the former cider press have both been purchased by the same partners.

The cider press is now called Trenta and nolans is still, well, nolans

Chef Tony; Nice to hear from you. Are you still at Morrissey's?

What are the days and hours you are open this season?

Chef Tony 05-22-2023 05:20 PM

That's a negative, time traveller.

I'm at Nolan's now
Open every day 1130-9

The menu has changed quite a lot-a combination of the new owners and you? I like it a lot better.

Chef Tony 06-02-2023 09:37 AM

It's mostly them... I'm just trying to keep the quality up

Chefs

Chef Tony-I was just reviewing the Menu online, not sure if it is the updated version or not but noticed under the Meatball description it states Barry's meatballs.

Is this Chef Barry from Karen & Barrys and if so, is Chef Barry still there?

Thank you

Chef Tony 06-05-2023 12:13 AM

I don't think so.... I have only met him once.
He only comes overnights to do the meatballs, he did alot more of the cooking and prep in the past. Apparently he was there for many years before I got there .
