Flamingo and swim lines off of smith point in Moultonboro

Just wondering why marine patrol is pulling every one over going over head way speed here is it a new no wake zone ? Never was before.

I burned past an MP boat there on Jettie One Sunday with no problems. In fact, we were among other boats, so not sure if it was just the MP you saw.

Those swim lines come out pretty far—what do you think their distance is from shore? And why/how were they able to get that? I assumed swim lines were for organizations/public spaces, etc.

by law its 6 ft. deep in water depth or 50 ft. from shore for a swim line and it has to be permitted by the dept. of safety. the swim lines are at least 100 ft. plus from the shoreline and the flamingo must be at least 150 plus ft. from the shoreline . maybe just a new home owner that doesn't know the rules.

Yeah. It's always the new people. They should be required to post a "new people flag" for the first three years. Maybe sign an affidavit that says "We have no rights for 36 months." Every time we hear about disputes over waterfront, dock locations, swim rafts, etc, it always seems to be the new people. LOL

Extra space

There has been a trend along that shoreline to put something out from shore to extend the 150 foot rule to the float plus 150. The floats are rarely if ever used, but serve a purpose. It is hard to respect the intent, especially for the spite Flamingo.

Is it even possible to be 150' from the outermost object given the hazards on the other side?

Also, to whom would the question of legality/appropriateness be addressed?

its Marine patrol / dept. of safety ... as I stated above but its humorous in a way and on the other hand not. My friends son was pulled over there just the other day just above head way speed. It went well but the officer said to stay at headway speed there ? now from what I heard today there's a no wake buoy LOL , For a rainy day the saga of the pink flamingo will be interesting to follow.
