Kiln-dried Firewood?
Dear All--I'm new here, so I'm a bit late to get firewood this season. I've read the posts about some good sources, but does anyone know where we can get kiln-dried firewood? I saw the post about "Province Kiln-Dried Firewood" but perhaps they are out of business (since the phone just rang through and was never answered). Thanks!!!

Have you tried searching Craigslist?
|
Province kiln dried
I drove by there yesterday and there was all sorts of activity in the yard.
|
Was this the place and number you tried??
|
Thanks--That's exactly the place I tried. It rings through with no voicemail. (Eventually you get to an automataic message that "the Verizon wireless customer is not available" but you are unable to leave a message.

Have fun and enjoy the Winni Forum while making many new friends and the best of luck with your request for looking for dry firewood and hope it comes through quickly for you. I would continue tiring that company and you may also want to check out their FB location also.:).

Ossipee Mountain Land company used to sell kiln dried firewood in bulk but it has been many years since I purchased from them. I see from their website they package and sell it in bundles but I don't see anything about bulk sales. Would still be worth a phone call to inquire
Ossipee Mountain Land Company Incorporated P.O. Box 599, West Ossipee, New Hampshire 03890 Telephone: (603) 323-7677 http://www.ossipeemountainlandcompany.com/index.html |
There also is this place:
http://www.ossipeemountainlandcompany.com/ I would have got some wood from them late last winter, as I had nearly run out, but the waiting list was several weeks long and I couldn't wait. I settled for a cord and a half from a tree service that was supposed to be seasoned for two years. About a third was nice and dry, a third ok if I mixed it with dry wood and kept the firebox hot, and the rest was so wet it could have squirted me in the face. The only way to get air-seasoned wood, it seems, is to season it yourself, always working a year ahead of use. |

My daughter just contacted them (Province) for another delivery...and they are taking requests now for end of Feb! (That doesn't help!)
