This is a sad story

I don't want to get too inVolvoed in this discussion, except to point out this poor guy is probably sad and Saabing over his lost car. And I'm positive he regrets that someone had a camaro with them, took the picture of his car, and splashed it all over this Forum, InAcurately, I might add.

kaj 11-25-2008 03:51 PM

Are you all that Desperado for something to do?

Don 11-25-2008 04:13 PM

I took an Odyssey to the Lake to see what all the fuss was about. It was my Civic duty.

Agreed: by all means, let the rest of us stay out of the Crossfire. :)

Crossfire? I thought this thread had a pretty good Vibe going.

Patrol the Discovery in Alton Bay for an Infinity, and Vanquish Cavalier speculation that a Ramcharger type of Samarui Darted Cavalierly into a Silhouette of Escape. Elite speculation leads a Celebrity Roadmaster like myself to a Rocky regatta conclusion, where the Venture(ist) couldn't see the Horizon.

bad trip

The driver tried to TRAVERSE the rode to SANTA FE looking for the NAVAJO but got lost and wound up in DAKOTA. It seems the EXCERTION wound up a bad EXPEDITION.

SteveA 11-26-2008 10:49 AM

Maybe..

Question of Ownership

Question: If nobody claims the Jimmy, does it become the Alton Town's car, or do they have to publish a URL Linc oln their Lost and Found web page?

chipj29 11-26-2008 01:53 PM

I just Sentra letter to the town to inquire. I Aspire to be the owner of the Jimmy.

To get there, we will have to have a lot more Volks pulling their end of the Wagon.

Mee-n-Mac 11-27-2008 10:50 AM

What a Rogue

The more I thought of it, the more I wondered what kind of Saab story we'll hear when "Jimmy" comes forth. Probably wasn't paying attention because he was looking at an Aurora or watching an Eclipse or some other goofy reason for lack of Focus. At least he didn't dial 911 for help, small Tribute to his Vigor I guess.

hazelnut 11-27-2008 11:23 AM

My Guess

Someone used a coat hanger to Jimmy the lock and took that Giant Motor Coach for a joyride.

Just a theory.... dang teenagers.

trfour 11-27-2008 12:48 PM

I wonder if it could have been....

Stutz Bearcat and his buoy's that took Jimmy's attention from the wheel?

Or maybe Avanti just Studebaker'ed him into the Lake?? :look:

I Echo that sentiment, as even while in FL, I had to Dart to the laptop to check.

riverat 11-28-2008 09:27 AM

If it was stuck in the water, he could have at least got out and Porsche

John A. Birdsall 11-28-2008 04:26 PM

Jimmy did it

I enjoyed all the car-toons of sorts that are on this tread. However, I recall a few years ago at the boat ramp in Peggy Cove that a person launched an aluminum row boat with a small moter, was testing it out. Left his cadilac and trailer in the water, He did not put the car completly into park, left the car running and when he got back, his car he thought was gone. But his boat found it, and it landed on the roof. Yup, the car backed down by itself into the water and went under.

JPC 11-28-2008 05:20 PM

Where is Jimmy's driver

All puns aside, has anyone heard yet who the driver/owner is?

ghfromaltonbay 11-28-2008 10:42 PM

Ugggh!

A few more of these puns and I'm going to have a FIT :rolleye2:!

Argie's Wife 11-28-2008 11:29 PM

Well, I spoke with our intrepid police chief the other day. He tells me they found the guy - his name is Mark Cooper and he had his wife Sierra in the car with him. The story is rather intrigue-ing - a real classic!

Anyhow, according to the chief it sounds like he got to the ridgeline of the summit on Peggy's Cove and he was doing about 80 when a deer jumped out in front of him and he tried to dodge it but the deer was being chased by a lynx. The guy hit his breaks and skidded about five-hundred feet, right into the water. The guy had no clue he was right on the edge of the water.

Mark knew it would take a century to get the car out of the water and didn't want try to be a celebrity by pulling it out himself. He also knew his insurance company would get him a car of a better caliber if he claimed this accident. However, the insurance company is bound to see this charade!

gtxrider 11-28-2008 11:51 PM

and on it goes

At least the the ELEMENTs were favorable for a quick swim. Next time he needs a SCOUT to go ahead and look for HIGHLANDER to drive on. Thanks and keep it roling AMIGOs.

Yeah, Argies Wife managed to Fuse everything together quite nicely, without adding a lot of conFusion to the thread.

Ropetow 11-30-2008 01:42 AM

Please, don't close this thread, whether it be by voice vote, show-of-hands, or executive Fiat.

Isn't this where we started ? I guess we didn't answer why a Jimmy so much as why it isn't some other SUV. Like a Mercedes ML-350 .... you don't see them in the water much. They get the Benz.
