Glad you got them all corralled! We had a place on an island years ago and when we left one of the cats was no where to be found. I went back the next day and he was very glad to see me! I was very worried though.

Same thing last year....cat took off like a rocket ( in the house ) and I searched for an hour...must have found a good spot cause I couldn't find him. I went back the next night and he was sitting on the back of the couch, cold and hungry...much more subdued and easily crated! ;-)

I kind of do the same thing to my wife when she tells me its time to leave the island!! :D:D

:laugh:You go into hiding? Does she find you or come back for you the next day when you are cold and hungry?

I threaten to stay on the island with our dog (really her dog) and that's when it gets ugly! She says there is no way she's leaving without the dog!!:eek:

Understood. I had a medical problem once, made it through the night and headed to the boat and hospital. When we got to the mainland--where's the dog? We went back for her, then returned to go to the ER. As long as blood isn't spurting...play on.

Perhaps that's why so many islanders have more than one boat?

True story along the same lines...we had a birthday party out here for my wife 3 years ago. It was a great time and went deep into the next morning. We had some overnight guests that had to get to their vehicles, so still in a dazed fog, they got in the pontoon and we headed to Glendale where some were parked. Charlotte the dog came along for ride. When we got there, I dumped the mountain of trash we generated, wished safe travels to my cousin's headed back to NJ, then got back on the boat to take the rest to Mt.View where their vehicles were. As we approached the channel to the marina, I had a revelation...." Where's the dog????". I sped back to Glendale and sitting on the dock was Charlotte, with her best " what the hell did you just do to me " face. She hopped on board and we completed our mission, and I avoided decapitation by the wife , cause that would have been the outcome!

Or a roque wave comes along. That's a mighty small island he's on.

Like Sally, the topless protester on Weirs Beach a few years back! ;-)

LoveLakeLife 12-02-2022 05:43 PM

I remember Sally. She made the tide go out at Weirs Beach.

Life IS scary at times...I had visions of having to convert the C-Nile into a whale watching vessel, but in hindsight maybe giving tours of the alternative Sally's Gut would have been a lucrative career move for me.
