What a terrific idea of the webmaster to create a blog area. I know that 'blog' is an acronym or something like that, but cannot recall for what.

Anyway, as the proud new owner of a 20-25 year old, fixer-upper Force 5, 14' sailboat, purchased recently at a yard sale for an el cheapo price of $350, I have decided to name it the Yard Sail, but on 2nd thought maybe should be calling it the Yard Sale. Yard Sail or Yard Sale......which is a better fit? On the one hand, it is a sailboat, and on the other hand, it was purchased at a yard sale...what a totally tough decision....good thing that I am not a politician trying to make the correct tough decision.. Probably, I should call it the Yard Sale because when I decide to sell it then all I have to do is change the 'Yard' to 'For' and it will become the 'For Sale.' So, many thanks for giving me this opportunity to answer my own question, and don't forget to be a safe boater because the water temperature is still on the cool side as you would notice very quickly.

A big 10-4.....over & out !

Less, you bought my boat. I've been looking for that boat forever. Please let me know when you want to sell it, I'll give you $250 for it, what with depreciation and all.

For what it's worth, I bought a 1953 Lightning class sail boat a couple of years ago with the hope of restoring. I have been thinking of selling her because (insert the excuse of your choice here). She is all Mahogany with the original wood mast. Also a yard sail/sale special...TG

    Lightning Class

I remember racing with my Dad in this class back in the 50's and 60's. They were a lot of fun! The Gilford Yacht Club organized the races. I remember scotch and brandy was the 'fuel of the day'. Of course I was too young to drink. It was fun to watch the grownups make 'mistakes'.
