'Twas the Night Before...

Meredith NH - Mill Falls Marketplace

'Twas the night before Christmas

And all thru the town

Folks were ready for the snow to come down

The new skis sat sharp and shiny in the hall

The snowmobile was tuned, ready for the white stuff to fall

The days were short, light was low

But around town there was a merry glow

The town was alight and alive

Something right out of Currier and Ives

The lake shimmers and smokes in the cold

Waiting for the freeze to form its winter’s mold

How lucky we are to live here to see

Winter in its wonderful reverie

So, please let this be greeting to all those

who can’t be here among us close

We look forward to seeing you in the New Year

Hoping there will be less to fear

I wish all good fortune

Health, Love, and a happy tune

It may sound trite, but it’s not insincere

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
