Anniversary Hill Inn
Does anyone know anything about the Old Anniversary Hill Inn in West Alton? In the early 1800's It belonged to a farmer whose name was Carpenter. I thing It was after the Lakeshore Railroad ceased.
the guest house never burned. The servants quarters burned around 2000. When and who divided the original large lot?. It was 4 acres. The railroad ran right through it about 200 feet from the lake. Last edited by Soaringeagle; 09-23-2022 at 06:13 PM. Reason: additional info |

Anniversary Hill Inn
It is still there but has been a private home for many years. I believe the inn used to own all the way down to the lake and that there were cabins. Now I think the inn is on a one acre lot. The cabin just below it that burned down was recently rebuilt.

There is a cabin that was recently built that replaced a cabin that burned. If they had 2 cabins burn at separate times I would say they have some bad luck. Last edited by Lakeboater; 09-20-2022 at 06:57 PM. |

Here’s a listing from two years ago for what’s described as the guest house of the Anniversary Inn.

My family owned the house from 1962-1966. It had the name Shangri-La on the front of the house.

Anniversary Hill Inn
Sammy are you talking about the Inn or guest House. The Inn was on #11 between Elm St. and Chestnut ST. Later changed to anniversary Hill
