The
Winnipesaukee Basin extends far from the Big Lake--and surface flow eventually carries chemicals and their derivatives downhill to multiple lakes.
The larvae are
something else's food: Usually birds (like Chickadees) eat the larvae (and adults) of butterflies and moths.
Speaking as one who has a "lawn" of ferns, Pink Lady Slipper, Jack-in-the-Box, Canadian Yew, Jewelweed, Blueberries and Queen Pine, is this really a problem?
