Today's www.citizen.com has an article on Stewart's Ambulance Service switching over to ambulances made by Mercedes Benz over the next two years. I could not read the article because I do not subscribe and just read the beginning...oh well...Mercedes probably makes an excellent ambulance vehicle....and Stewart's probably never-ever buys any advertising in the Citizen....so will keep my mouth shut about making any wise guy comments about how the ambulance will show up to your Meredith address and provide medical help for FREE....and how the ambulance service for Meredith medical charges only start once you get loaded inside the ambulance and get transported to a hospital in a very posh Mercedes Benz.

For example...let's say you think you are having a heart attack at 3-am....but it turns out to be just a bad case of indigestion because you forgot to remove the cardboard backing from a frozen pizza and unknowingly ate some baked cardboard...well...Stewarts will show up to your Meredith address anytime, 24-7, to assist....and there is no charge for them to show up as long as you do not get transported in their Mercedes. ...say-hey....because it is a Mercedes....just maybe they could show up with a cold six pack of Heineken, the Mercedes of Beer, and ask if you need a cold Heiny to wash out and regurgitate that cardboard laced piece of $3.49 Hannaford's pizza at 3-am? Just think about that for a Mercedes style ambulance service, buddy!

The question is if anybody within a mile of the event would allow parking at their house or business for the day, Saturday, for pay of course. Thank you!

Everything gets worse as we get older, I know that already, BUT -

We're in the market for a new swim raft. When I was a kid, these were great big things, made of heavy wood and floated with styrofoam. 20 kids could jump up and down all day and not flip the thing.

My most recent one was a piece of crap. Small, light, some kind of redwood-like deck with black plastic floats. The flimsy metal ladder kept coming off. Three kids could flip it if they worked at it.

As I look around, most new ones are like the latter, rather than the former. Is this an accurate impression? Why is it difficult to find a good one? Have they been banned by tree-huggers, or is there another explanation?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is free and open to the public, please stop by! We will also be displaying the entries to our Kid's Coloring Contest so if you have any kids (or grandkids) in K-8 be sure to have them send in a coloring contest entry. One entry per age group (K-2, 3-5, 6-8) will win a free week of theatre and art camp (valued at $250!). Coloring sheets available at www.winniplayhouse.org.

The weekend also includes a Gala Fundraiser on Saturday at 6pm and a playwriting festival on our outdoor amphitheatre which runs from 10am-5pm on Saturday (each of 11 plays will rotate through twice) and at 2pm Sunday (one performance of each play). Gala tickets and information about the playwriting festival are also online.

Hi Folks,
looked at my mooring lines this weekend and I think it is time for at least one of them to be replaced, one is 5 years old, the second about 3.

I have been extremly fortunate since joining the forum and the lake that one of our esteemed members gave me his lines when I first started out, and then I was able to purchase another line from a cottage association neighbor of mine. I Have not really had to go out and purchase.

I have tried searching online but I am having trouble finding 5 or 6 foot lines with what I believe are steel eye chaffing rings in each eye

where is the best place to purchase online or around Laconia area, and what are good prices for them?? my extensive research has still left me guessing.

I know that our marina sells them but seems expensive at about $55

thanks Forum Buddies:cheers:
